Authorities are investigating a head-on collision in Colerain Township that resulted in the death of 70-year-old Barbara Wooten on Monday evening. She was transported to Mercy West Hospital after the crash but later passed away from her injuries, according to Colerain Township Police spokesperson Helen Tracey-Noren.
The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Pippin Road, leading officials to temporarily close the area for approximately two hours as emergency crews worked to assist those involved and secure the scene. Two additional individuals were hospitalized following the crash, though officials have not yet released updates regarding their conditions.
The Colerain Police Traffic Safety Unit is currently examining the factors that may have contributed to the collision. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the department at 513-321-2677 as the investigation continues.
