At least 1 killed, 3 wounded after shooting outside Advance Auto Parts store in Augusta
AUGUSTA, Ga. — A deadly shooting involving multiple victims prompted a large law enforcement response Sunday evening near Meadowbrook Drive and Deans Bridge Road, in the parking lot of the Advance Auto Parts store.
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office confirmed that at least one person has died as a result of the shooting.
While the total number of victims has not been officially confirmed, early reports suggest that at least four individuals, including a child, may have been shot.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office issued a public safety alert shortly after the incident, urging the public to avoid the area while investigators processed the scene.
“The Sheriff’s Office is currently in the area of Meadowbrook Drive for an active situation. We’re asking for everyone to avoid the area while this investigation continues,” the department stated.
Law enforcement personnel, including investigators and crime scene technicians, remain at the location as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Authorities have not yet released information on potential suspects or a motive.
Residents are advised to steer clear of the area as the investigation is ongoing.
