Authorities Detain Cortney Bartholomew as Investigation Into Rebecca Kay Park’s Death Continues

Authorities have detained Cortney Marie Bartholomew as part of the investigation into the death of 26-year-old Rebecca Kay Park, whose disappearance and later recovery prompted a multi-agency inquiry.

Officials confirmed that both Cortney and Brad Bartholomew were taken into custody for questioning as investigators collected potential evidence from the property, including multiple vehicles. Authorities have not announced any formal charges against either individual.

Rebecca was last seen on November 3 near her mother’s residence in Boon Township, Michigan. Initial reports indicated she may have entered a dark-colored vehicle, though investigators noted that Cortney provided differing descriptions of the vehicle in question. She is believed to be the last person to have seen Rebecca alive.

In the days following Rebecca’s disappearance, Cortney reportedly sent a series of urgent messages to Rebecca’s fiancé, Richard Lee Falor. The messages—sent despite limited recent contact—expressed concern and referenced Rebecca possibly leaving with another individual. Rebecca’s cellphone was later found on a roadway in the area, a discovery Cortney is said to have made herself.

Public records indicate that both Cortney and Falor have prior criminal histories, though officials have not stated whether these records have any connection to the ongoing investigation.

After 21 days missing, Rebecca was located deceased by her father during a search effort, near the area where she was last seen. Rebecca, who was nine months pregnant, was found off the roadway, and early reports suggested her remains may have been moved to that location. Authorities have not released information regarding the baby’s whereabouts.

Following the discovery, Rebecca’s sister, Kimberly Park, and Rebecca’s fiancé, Richard Falor, were both taken into custody. Kimberly has since been formally charged with tampering with evidence, making false statements during a violent crime investigation, and filing a false felony report. Falor is currently facing unrelated drug charges.

The investigation remains active, with additional updates expected as forensic results, autopsy findings, and evidence analysis continue. Authorities have not ruled out further charges as the case develops.
