Upon arrival, officers discovered Inol Toussaint, born September 2, 1976, deceased in the backyard of the home from what authorities believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

While searching the residence, officers located Eusther Toussaint, born October 20, 1983, deceased inside an upstairs area of the home.

Detectives with the Waxhaw Police Department, working alongside agents from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Preliminary findings indicate that Inol Toussaint fatally shot his wife, Eusther Toussaint, inside the residence before going outside and taking his own life, in what investigators believe to be a domestic violence-related homicide-suicide.

Authorities emphasized that investigators believe the incident to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
