Warren County Murder-Suicide Leaves Three Dead, Including 8-Year-Old Girl

WARREN COUNTY TENNESSEE, A tragic incident in Warren County over the weekend left three members of a family dead, including a man, his wife, and their 8-year-old daughter.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a welfare check at a residence on Greenwood Drive around 2 p.m. on Sunday. When officers entered the home, they found Joseph Nicholas Shelton Jr., Randi Jean Shelton, and the couple’s young daughter deceased.

Investigators said Joseph Shelton Jr. fatally shot his wife and daughter before taking his own life. Authorities described the incident as domestic-related and said there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Officials confirmed that Randi Shelton is survived by two older children who were not at the residence at the time of the incident.

The couple’s 8-year-old daughter attended Hickory Creek Elementary School. In a statement, the school expressed sympathy for the family and those affected by the loss.

“We continue to lift her family, friends, classmates, and teachers in prayer in the days ahead, and we remain thankful for the time she was a part of our Hickory Creek family. Her presence will always be remembered and cherished,” the statement said.

Warren County Sheriff Jackie Matheny also shared condolences, asking the community to keep the affected families and first responders in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Friends and community members have also shared tributes remembering Randi Shelton as a kind and caring person whose loss has deeply impacted those who knew her.

Authorities said the investigation into the incident remains ongoing and additional details may be released as more information becomes available.
