Officer-Involved Shooting at Jasper VA Clinic Leaves Suspect Injured

JASPER ALABAMA, An active law enforcement investigation is underway in Jasper following an officer-involved shooting at the local Veterans Affairs (VA) Clinic.
According to officials, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Jasper Police Department in response to the incident.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the VA Clinic after receiving reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, responding officers encountered an individual believed to be the suspected shooter. During the confrontation, officers discharged their weapons, striking the suspect.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, and one individual was transported before being airlifted by medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) to a nearby hospital. The condition of the injured individual has not been disclosed.
At this time, authorities have not confirmed whether there are additional victims or injuries related to the incident.
Officials have stated that the situation remains active and under investigation. Members of the public have been urged to avoid the area to ensure the safety of first responders and to allow law enforcement personnel to carry out their duties without interference.
