Multiple People Injured by Falling Debris at Yellow Springs Elementary Construction Site in Frederick

FREDERICK MARYLAND, Emergency crews responded to a multi-patient incident at a construction site for Yellow Springs Elementary School after several individuals were injured by falling debris.
The incident occurred near Spring Run Drive and Walter Martz Road, where responders arrived to find multiple people with traumatic injuries.
Initial information indicated that at least three individuals were classified as trauma patients. Two required Advanced Life Support (ALS) care, while one was treated under Basic Life Support (BLS).
Due to the seriousness of one patient’s condition, identified as Priority 1A, officials requested a medical helicopter to quickly transport the individual to a trauma center.
A fourth patient was later located and evaluated at the scene, also receiving BLS care. Additional emergency medical resources were requested to assist responders.
Authorities have not yet provided details about what caused the debris to fall or released the identities of those involved.
The incident remains under investigation as officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
