The crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. on February 28 on Oakwood Avenue in Vicco, a small community in Perry County about 130 miles southeast of Lexington.

Investigators said the ATV left the roadway and went over an embankment during the incident. The crash killed 16-year-old Emilynn Clark and seriously injured one of two other passengers.

Perry County Sheriff Joe Engle said the community has been deeply affected by the tragedy. Officials noted that Clark and the driver were close friends.

Clark was remembered by family members as a student who enjoyed sports, including volleyball and basketball. A fundraising campaign has been established to help with funeral expenses and to build a memorial in her honor.

Authorities said the investigation into the crash remains ongoing. Law enforcement officials are examining surveillance footage from local businesses and conducting additional analysis as part of the case.
