Tragic Accident in Florida Leaves Woman Dead After Horse Incident

WINTER HAVEN, a Florida woman was reportedly trampled to death by horses she was feeding in a field near a mobile home park, according to authorities.
Citing the Winter Haven Police Department, FOX 13 reported that the woman was found dead Thursday afternoon.
Police said officers were called to a field next to the Lucerne Lakeside Mobile Home Park around 2 p.m.
“When officers arrived, they said they saw a body lying in the field with two horses nearby,” the outlet reported. “Officers jumped the fence and found an elderly woman unresponsive on the ground. They said the woman had visible injuries to her face and torso.”
The woman was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
FOX 13 reported that an autopsy determined the woman died from blunt-force trauma, with injuries consistent with being trampled by a large animal.
According to the report, people who live in the area told investigators that the woman frequently fed the horses. Authorities said the owner of the animals is cooperating with the investigation.
Police confirmed the woman’s family has been notified, but her identity has not been released.
