Three People Injured in Shooting at Maplewood Mall, Authorities Investigating

MAPLEWOOD, MINN., Police responded to a shooting at Maplewood Mall on Sunday afternoon that resulted in three people being injured.
Officers were dispatched shortly before 2:30 p.m. after receiving reports that multiple individuals had been shot inside the shopping center. Upon arrival, authorities located three people with injuries. Officials have not yet publicly disclosed the extent of those injuries.
A large law enforcement presence was observed outside the mall, particularly near the southeast entrance by the JCPenney store. Emergency vehicles, including a fire truck and ambulance, were also on scene as first responders assisted the injured and secured the area.
Witnesses described a chaotic situation as shoppers were directed away from the immediate area while officers established a perimeter. Portions of the mall were temporarily closed as police worked to determine whether there was any continuing threat.
Authorities have not released information regarding a possible suspect or whether any arrests have been made. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
