Suspect Arrested Following Stabbing Incident in Mattapan

BOSTON, a Boston man is facing an armed assault to murder charge in connection with a stabbing that occurred Saturday night in Mattapan, police said.

Officers responding to reports of a person stabbed in the area of 95 River St. encountered an individual matching the suspect’s description walking toward them, according to Boston police.

Authorities identified the suspect as Hakeem Jackson, 29, who was taken into custody at the scene. Police said Jackson is expected to be arraigned Monday in Dorchester District Court.

The victim was transported to a hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.
