Police Investigate Shooting at Woodbine Shopping Centre Plaza

TORONTO, police are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon at the Woodbine Shopping Centre Plaza, prompting a lockdown and a large police response as authorities worked to secure the area.

Toronto police said they were called to the plaza at approximately 3:31 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Officers arrived quickly and initiated a lockdown as a precaution while searching for those involved. Toronto Paramedic Services also responded to the scene to assess injuries.

In a later update, police confirmed they located a male victim in his 30s who had sustained gunshot-related injuries. He was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition, authorities said.

Police stated that the suspect or suspects fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived. A significant police presence remained in the area for several hours as investigators canvassed the scene, spoke with witnesses, and reviewed surveillance footage from the plaza and nearby locations.
