KAPOLEI HAWAII, The Honolulu Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Friday morning in Kapolei.
Authorities said officers responded around 11:30 a.m. to reports of gunfire on Puanohu Place. Upon arrival, they located a man in his 20s suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency Medical Services also responded and treated a teenage girl who sustained gunshot injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Officials have not released information about her current condition.
Police have not provided details about a possible suspect or whether any arrests have been made.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting. Residents may notice an increased police presence in the area while authorities continue to process the scene.
