Golden Valley High School Shooting: One Injured at GVHS Campus in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIA, Police are investigating after at least one person was wounded in a shooting outside Golden Valley High School in Bakersfield on Wednesday.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the shooting was reported at approximately 11:21 a.m. in the 800 block of Hosking Avenue. Officers responded to the scene and located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The individual’s condition has not yet been publicly released.
Authorities confirmed that no students or faculty from Golden Valley High School were involved in the incident.
As a precaution, a secure hold was implemented at nearby campuses, including Leon H. Ollivier Middle School and Horizon Elementary School, according to Crystal Figueroa with the Greenfield Union School District. A secure hold typically requires students and staff to remain inside classrooms while normal operations continue indoors.
Police have not released details about a suspect or possible motive. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
