FORDYCE, The Fordyce Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning during a private gathering, leaving one man dead and a suspect still at large.
According to police, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 3:00 a.m. during a 40th birthday celebration. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim has been identified as Jerron Lucus Sr.
Authorities said the suspect fled the scene and remains on the run as the investigation continues. No additional details about the suspect or a possible motive have been released at this time.
Police are urging anyone with information related to the case to contact local law enforcement as the search for the suspect remains active.
