Emily Blackburn Death: Florence, KY Community Remembers Beloved Friend

FLORENCE, KY, Emily Shea Blackburn, 26, of Florence, passed away on February 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by compassion, creativity, and a deep love for her family and friends.
Born on September 3, 1999, in Florence, Emily grew up in the community she proudly continued to call home. Those who knew her described her as bright, thoughtful, and uplifting — someone whose presence naturally brought comfort and positivity to others.
Emily worked as a financial advisor, a career that reflected her dedication, focus, and determination. She approached her profession with care and professionalism, helping others plan confidently for their futures. Beyond her career, she had a strong passion for the arts.
She enjoyed writing and painting, using creativity as a meaningful form of expression. Whether through storytelling or artwork, Emily found fulfillment in sharing her perspective and imagination. She also loved traveling and treasured time spent creating memories with loved ones, especially during visits to Panama City Beach, Florida.
A devoted sister and sports fan, Emily often attended her brother Evan’s basketball games, offering enthusiastic support from the stands. She also enjoyed cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals and sharing in the excitement of football season.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl and Betty Hansen and Don and Marguerite Blackburn, as well as her uncle, Gary Hansen.
Emily is survived by her parents, Todd and Julie Blackburn; her brother, Evan Blackburn; her uncle and aunt, Greg and Colleen Hansen; her cousins, Lauren Hansen and Gary Hansen (Taylor); along with many extended family members and close friends who will cherish her memory.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Stith Funeral Home, located at 7500 US Highway 42 in Florence. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 p.m.
Though her life was brief, Emily Shea Blackburn’s kindness, creativity, and warmth will continue to be remembered by all who knew her.
