DAVID CICCARELLI, The Williamsport community is mourning the unexpected loss of David James Ciccarelli, 34, who died on January 30, 2026, following ongoing mental health challenges. His passing has left family members, friends, colleagues, and community members grieving the loss of a man remembered for his kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit.
David was widely known as a thoughtful and caring individual whose life was shaped by faith, music, and a love of learning. For several years, he worked at The Williamsport Home, where he found deep fulfillment in singing with residents. Music was one of his greatest gifts, and those who knew him recall how his voice brought comfort, joy, and connection, especially to those most in need of companionship.
A man of strong faith, David served his church community as both a lector and a eucharistic minister. He carried out these roles with humility and devotion, viewing service as a central part of his life. His commitment to helping others extended beyond the church and into his academic and professional pursuits.
David was a proud graduate of Lycoming College, where he earned degrees in Chemistry and Biology in 2018. He continued his education by completing the Medical Laboratory Science Program at UPMC in 2024, preparing for a career dedicated to healthcare and service. Those close to him say he approached his studies with diligence and a sincere desire to make a positive difference.
Above all, David will be remembered for his gentle heart and quiet generosity. He gave freely of his time and talents without seeking recognition, leaving lasting impressions through small, meaningful acts of kindness.
David is survived by his parents, Lee and Lisa Ciccarelli; his sisters, Ann (Charles) Masters and Rosa (Patrick) Roman; his brother, Michael (Kristen) Ciccarelli; and his beloved nieces and nephews—Olivia, Sophia, Carson, Alexander, and Nicholas—who affectionately knew him as “Uncle Dave.”
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for family and close friends on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Saint Joseph the Worker Parish.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established the David James Ciccarelli Choir Scholarship at Lycoming College to honor David’s lifelong love of music and singing. Donations may be sent to Lycoming College, One College Place, Williamsport, PA 17701.
David James Ciccarelli’s life, though far too brief, was defined by compassion, service, and faith. His legacy lives on through the music he shared, the people he served, and the love he leaves behind.
