Thomson Shooting Claims Life of 17-Year-Old Raheem Hampton

THOMSON, Ga. — An overnight shooting in Thomson resulted in the death of a 17-year-old male, according to local authorities.
McDuffie County Coroner Paul Johnson confirmed that the shooting occurred in the 300 block of Walnut Street.
Law enforcement officers responded to a call shortly before 10:00 p.m. Saturday, where they found Raheem Hampton, 17, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Hampton was transported to Doctors Hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries, officials said.
Authorities also reported that a second individual sustained a gunshot wound and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
