Ogle County Man Arrested on Charges of Criminal Sexual Assault of a Minor
MOUNT MORRIS, An Ogle County man has been arrested following an investigation into the sexual assault of a minor, according to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s detectives said the investigation began on Jan. 5 after authorities received a report involving a sex-related incident at the Mt. Morris Estates Mobile Home Park. The case involved a 15-year-old victim.
As the investigation progressed, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant. As a result, 38-year-old James Cicchetti Jr. of Mt. Morris was taken into custody and arrested on a charge of criminal sexual assault.
Cicchetti was transported to the Ogle County Jail following his arrest.
The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office said it received assistance during the investigation from the Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center. The case remains under review as legal proceedings continue.
