Mbo Edwin Arrested After Truck Becomes Stuck on Mazatlán Beach

MAZATLÁN MEXICO, Authorities arrested truck driver Mbo Edwin after his heavy-duty tractor-trailer became stuck in the sand while he attempted to take photos with his girlfriend on Playa Norte.
What began as a romantic gesture and social media photo session escalated into a public incident on Wednesday night, drawing crowds and prompting a coordinated response from local authorities.
Officials said Edwin drove a tractor-trailer belonging to Castores Transport directly onto the beach, disregarding traffic, safety, and environmental regulations. The action disrupted movement along the Mazatlán boardwalk and attracted widespread attention from bystanders, some of whom described the scene as unusual and unexpected.
Police officers, preventive security personnel, and lifeguards responded to the area to manage the situation, oversee safety measures, and coordinate efforts to remove the vehicle from the sand. A multi-agency operation was launched to extract the truck and restore normal conditions along the busy beachfront.
According to reports, Edwin intentionally left the paved roadway to enter the sand in order to capture photos and videos with his girlfriend against the coastal backdrop. Authorities confirmed that the incident remains under review and that administrative sanctions have been issued against the driver.
