LRPD Arrests 19-Year-Old Woman in South Woodrow Street Homicide Case
KEYONA GRIFFIN ARRESTED, as the Little Rock Police Department announced the arrest of a 19-year-old woman in connection with a homicide that occurred on South Woodrow Street earlier this week.
According to authorities, LRPD arrested Keyona Griffin, 19, of Little Rock, and charged her with capital murder in relation to the fatal shooting. The incident took place on Wednesday, January 8.
Patrol officers from the 12th Street Division responded to a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 8:54 p.m. in the 1300 block of South Woodrow Street. Upon arrival, officers located Rashon Fields, 21, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Fields was transported by MEMS to a local hospital for treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts, he later died from his injuries. Officers secured the scene and requested assistance from homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit to continue the investigation.
The Pulaski County Coroner subsequently transported Fields’ body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab, where an autopsy will be conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.
