Holly, Michigan Incident Under Investigation Following Death of Peyton Bilbia

HOLLY, Mich. — Family and community members are mourning the loss of Peyton Bilbia, 26, of Milford, formerly of Grand Blanc, whose passing on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, has left loved ones heartbroken and a community in deep sorrow.
Peyton passed away following a serious incident at his apartment on New Year’s Eve. Authorities have indicated the matter remains under investigation. Officials have asked for privacy and sensitivity for the family as details continue to be reviewed.
Born on March 7, 1999, in Pontiac, Michigan, Peyton was the cherished son of Mathew M. and Abbie M. (Lahr) Bilbia. He was a 2017 graduate of Holly High School and later pursued higher education at the University of Michigan–Flint, where he was known for his curiosity, drive, and desire to grow both personally and professionally.
Earlier this year, Peyton moved from Grand Blanc to Milford, embracing a new chapter marked by independence, opportunity, and optimism for the future. Family and friends describe him as ambitious, adventurous, and full of life—someone who approached new experiences with enthusiasm and determination.
Peyton was employed by D.E. McNabb Flooring in New Hudson, where he quickly earned the respect of coworkers for his strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication. Outside of work, he enjoyed staying active, working out, riding mountain bikes, watching movies, listening to music, supporting University of Michigan football, and spending time with his beloved dogs.
Those closest to him remember Peyton for his kind heart, sense of humor, and ability to bring energy and warmth into every room. He was known for uplifting others and forming deep, meaningful connections with friends and family.
Peyton is survived by his parents, Mathew and Abbie Bilbia of Grand Blanc; sisters, Makayla Bilbia of Grand Rapids and Ella Bilbia of Grand Blanc; grandparents, Craig and Deborah Lahr of Waterford and Karen and Kevin Kasper of Albion; uncles, Kevin (Randielle) Bilbia of Bruce Township and Scott Lahr of Waterford; aunt, April Lahr of Milford; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Craig Bilbia.
Reflecting on his life, family members shared memories of Peyton’s happiness and milestones over the past year, including traveling for work, moving into his first apartment, celebrating weddings with friends, and looking forward to the future with optimism and joy.
Peyton Bilbia is remembered as a loyal friend, a loving son and brother, and a compassionate young man whose warmth and zest for life left a lasting impression. As loved ones grieve his passing, they continue to honor the memories of a life that touched many and will not be forgotten.
