Hattiesburg Police Investigate Apparent Murder-Suicide After Two Found Dead

HATTIESBURG MS, authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after at least three people were found dead inside a residence Tuesday afternoon.
According to Hattiesburg Police Department Chief Communications Officer John Arender, officers were dispatched to the home at approximately 2:45 p.m. to conduct a welfare check. When officers arrived, they discovered three deceased individuals inside the residence.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office, the Forrest County Coroner’s Office, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, and animal control personnel. Officials confirmed that the bodies have since been removed from the home.
Neighbors told authorities that the individuals found deceased were living at the residence. However, police have not publicly identified the victims and have not released information regarding their relationships or the circumstances that led to their deaths.
Police said the investigation remains active, and the area surrounding the home continues to be treated as a secured crime scene while investigators complete evidence collection and on-site work.
Authorities stated that additional details are expected to be released once the involved agencies complete their initial investigations.
