Both victims were transported to a hospital for treatment. Elizabeth “Lizzy” Angle later died from her injuries, while the second victim, identified by family as Gracie Brito, remains in critical condition.

According to Frisco police, investigators determined that the girls were riding on a sled that was being pulled behind a Jeep Wrangler driven by Braxton Tucker, 16. Witness statements indicated that the sled struck a curb before crashing into a tree.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Denton County District Attorney’s Office.

While police initially withheld the identities of the victims because of their ages, family members later confirmed that Elizabeth Angle and Gracie Brito were both 16 years old. All three teenagers involved attend Wakeland High School, where Angle was a sophomore.

Elizabeth Angle, the daughter of Megan and Brian Angle, was remembered by her family as a bright and compassionate young woman who had recently earned her driver’s license and was looking forward to the future.

Frisco police said the case has been reassigned for continued investigation. Authorities have not released additional details and are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Frisco Police Department at 972-292-6010.

The incident has deeply affected the Frisco community and Wakeland High School. Officials reiterated that towing sleds behind vehicles is extremely dangerous, particularly on icy roadways, and can lead to severe or fatal injuries.
