Chestertown Shooting Leaves One Person Injured After Large Fight

CHESTERTOWN MARYLAND, A heavy police and emergency response took place Thursday in Chestertown after reports of a large fight in the 700 block of High Street near Hawkins Drive.
Based on early information, officers from the Chestertown Police Department, along with EMS and fire personnel, were dispatched to the scene following calls that included reports of possible gunfire. When police arrived, they secured the area and conducted searches of nearby locations for those involved in the incident.
Emergency medical crews provided treatment to at least one individual at the scene. Police radio communications indicated that the person’s injuries were not the result of a gunshot. The injured individual was later taken to a local hospital for additional medical assessment.
Update at 3:24 p.m.: Authorities confirmed that suspects connected to the incident were taken into custody. EMS personnel cleared the scene, and remaining emergency units began standing down.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Officials advised residents and drivers to stay clear of the area, as traffic was diverted while police continued their work.
