West Columbus Rollover Crash Claims Life of 33-Year-Old Richard Coverdale

The Columbus community is mourning the loss of Richard Coverdale, 33, who died following a serious single-vehicle crash Wednesday night.
According to police, the crash occurred at approximately 9:53 p.m. on Roberts Road near Old Roberts Road. Coverdale was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound when the vehicle left the south side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. The force of the impact caused the Jeep to become airborne before landing and rolling multiple times. Authorities reported that Coverdale was ejected from the vehicle and landed on the grass nearby.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported Coverdale to Riverside Hospital in life-threatening condition. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at 2:17 a.m. Thursday.
The Columbus Police Department’s accident investigation unit is actively examining the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials have stated that no additional details are available at this time as the investigation continues.
