Two People Found Deceased Inside Brentwood Residence Linked to Rob Reiner as LAPD Investigates
Los Angeles authorities are investigating after two people were found dead Sunday afternoon inside a residence on Chadbourne Avenue in Brentwood, according to multiple law enforcement sources familiar with the case.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported that a man and a woman, believed to be approximately 78 and 68 years old, were discovered deceased inside the home.
Paramedics were dispatched to the address at approximately 3:30 p.m. Upon confirming the deaths, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) was notified.
LAPD officers responded shortly afterward under what is classified as an “ambulance death investigation,” a designation used when officers are called to a scene following the discovery of a deceased individual by fire or medical personnel.
The case has been assigned to the LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division, which typically oversees complex or sensitive death investigations requiring specialized review.
Several LAPD officials acknowledged awareness of the case but declined to provide further details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
A significant police presence was seen at the residence Sunday evening as detectives conducted preliminary inquiries and secured the scene.
Neighbors informed investigators that the home is occupied by director and actor Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, and public property records indicate the couple owns the residence.
However, authorities have not publicly confirmed the identities of the deceased, and no official statement has linked the deaths to any specific individuals. Current information released by law enforcement includes only estimated ages, which investigators emphasize cannot be used to confirm identity.
