The Denver community and many across the country are mourning the loss of Builder 3rd Class Natalie Klecker, a U.S. Navy Seabee remembered for her courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication to service. Her passing has left family, friends, and fellow service members grieving a life defined by purpose and care for others.
Natalie served with distinction, supporting missions that strengthened communities at home and abroad. During Exercise Cobra Gold 2020 in Thailand—one of the region’s largest multinational humanitarian and military exercises—she worked alongside Royal Thai Navy Engineers, Malaysian Army Engineers, and fellow Seabees to help construct a three-room schoolhouse aimed at improving educational access for local children. Those who served with her recall her diligence, skill, and steady positivity, qualities that made her a source of motivation on the job and beyond.
Outside of her military work, Natalie was known for the way she valued community and connection. She lived in Merriam, Kansas, and remained proud of her Denver roots. Friends describe her as warm, loyal, hardworking, and someone who could be counted on—whether in moments of celebration or during difficult times. Her laughter, kindness, and strength left a lasting impression on the people fortunate enough to know her.
Natalie is remembered not only for her professionalism and bravery, but also for her generosity of spirit and her consistent desire to help others. Her legacy lives on through the missions she supported, the people she impacted, and the example she set as a dedicated service member.
