Boston Hospital Campus Incident: Employee Hurt at Boston Medical Center, Police Respond

Boston police are investigating a stabbing reported early Wednesday morning on the campus of Boston Medical Center that left a staff member seriously injured.
Authorities said they received a report at about 2 a.m. of a stabbing in the area of 850 Harrison Avenue, the hospital’s main address. Police said the injured employee made their way to the hospital on their own and was found to be suffering from life-threatening injuries.
In a statement released Wednesday morning, a Boston Medical Center spokesperson confirmed the incident happened on hospital grounds and said the victim is a member of the hospital’s staff. The spokesperson added that the hospital remained open and operating normally and emphasized that patient and staff safety is a top priority.
Police said a suspect was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the hospital for evaluation. Authorities have not released additional details about the suspect or what led up to the incident.
The investigation remains active as detectives work to determine the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
