Angel Gonzalez-Sanchez Dies Following Christmas Day Attack in Omaha, Investigation Ongoing
With deep sorrow, the community remembers and honors the life of Angel Gonzalez-Sanchez, age 36, whose life ended on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska. The case also involves Maryuris Velasquez-Mendoza, age 41, who was booked into jail in connection with the incident. Authorities stated that charges are currently under review and may be amended following consultation with the Douglas County Attorney’s Office.
According to the Omaha Police Department, officers responded at approximately 11:16 p.m. to a 911 call of unknown nature at 5415 North 107th Plaza, Apartment #1. When officers arrived, they found Angel Gonzalez-Sanchez suffering from serious cutting-related injuries. Emergency medical personnel with the Omaha Fire Department immediately began life-saving efforts, including CPR, before transporting him to Immanuel Hospital. He was later transferred to Bergan Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
