Teenager Hospitalized After Tuesday Evening Shooting in Flint

Authorities in Flint say a 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after being injured in a shooting on the city’s south side Tuesday evening. The incident happened around 7:10 p.m. in the Howard Estates apartment complex, located in the 1800 block of Lapeer Road between Howard Avenue and 12th Street.
Flint Police Chief Terence Green reported that the teenager was struck in the hand and leg by an unidentified individual. He was taken to Hurley Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition as of Tuesday night.
Officials have not released details about a suspect or possible motive. Investigators used K-9 units to search the surrounding area, and the Flint Major Case Unit—which includes the Flint Police Department and Michigan State Police—is leading the investigation.
