Jack County Grieves Loss of Father and Child in Weekend Highway Collision
The Jack County community is mourning after a tragic crash on Highway 380 claimed the lives of 29-year-old Jonathan Contreras and his 1-year-old son. What began as a typical Sunday afternoon turned into a heartbreaking day for families and friends who are now coping with an unimaginable loss.
Authorities say the collision happened shortly after 1 p.m. when a Honda Accord attempted to pass in a no-passing zone and struck a Honda CR-V carrying the victims. Despite immediate efforts to help, both Jonathan and his young child were pronounced deceased at the scene. Two additional passengers—a 30-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy—were seriously injured and taken for medical treatment. All three individuals in the Accord were also found deceased.
