St. Louis authorities are reviewing an incident that occurred inside a North City grocery store on November 19, 2025, in the 3600 block of Natural Bridge at Grand. Officials responded shortly after 12:30 p.m. following reports of a disturbance involving a customer and on-site security staff.
When officers arrived, they found a 43-year-old man who had been involved in a confrontation with store security. Emergency personnel transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was reported to be in critical but stable condition.
According to early findings, the individual had previously been restricted from entering the store. Staff reportedly asked him to leave after he entered the building, but the situation escalated when he refused to comply. Authorities say the man made verbal threats and appeared to reach toward his waistband, prompting a response from the security guard involved. Investigators later recovered a knife from the individual.
The security guard’s equipment was collected as part of standard investigative procedure. Officials say the review is ongoing as they work to gather statements and confirm additional details about the sequence of events.
