MILTON KEYNES UK, A security guard known to colleagues and members of the public as Stan has died following a stabbing at Centre MK, police confirmed.
Thames Valley Police responded to reports of a serious assault at the shopping centre. Emergency services attended the scene, and a significant police presence remained in place as officers secured the area and began their investigation.
In a statement, police confirmed that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
“We understand this may be concerning, but please be reassured that we have arrested the suspected offender,” the force said, adding that a scene will remain in place while enquiries continue.
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant footage or information to contact police by calling 101 and quoting reference number INC 20260228 1537, or by submitting information through the Thames Valley Police website.
Stan was described by many as a familiar and friendly presence at Centre MK. Tributes began appearing on social media shortly after news of his death spread.
