OTTAWA, A man is in critical condition after a stabbing Thursday evening at the CF Rideau Centre in downtown Ottawa.
According to Ottawa Paramedic Service Superintendent of Public Information Marc-Antoine Deschamps, paramedics responded shortly after 5:30 p.m. following reports of an incident at the shopping centre. Emergency crews located an adult male with serious injuries at the scene.
Deschamps confirmed the victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Officials have not yet released additional information regarding the circumstances of the incident or whether a suspect has been identified.
This marks the second reported stabbing near the Rideau Centre within five days. Late Sunday evening, another man was injured outside the shopping complex, prompting increased public concern in the downtown area.
Police have not stated whether the two incidents are related. The investigation into Thursday’s incident remains active, and authorities are expected to share further updates as more details become available.
