California State University Fullerton Student Found Dead in On-Campus Housing

FULLERTON CALIFORNIA, The California State University, Fullerton community is mourning after a student was found dead early Friday morning, Jan. 30, in a student dormitory apartment on campus.
University officials confirmed that the student was discovered unresponsive in campus housing, and authorities believe the death was the result of suicide. Campus police responded to the scene and are actively investigating, though officials emphasized there is no threat to public safety.
Out of respect for the student’s family and loved ones, the university has not released the student’s name or additional identifying details.
In a message to students and staff, CSU Fullerton expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended condolences to those affected. Counseling and support services have been made available to students, faculty, and staff as the campus processes the tragedy.
“This is an incredibly difficult time for our community,” the university said in a statement. “We encourage anyone who is struggling to reach out for support and to check in on one another.”
Grief counselors and campus mental health professionals are being deployed to provide support, particularly to residents of the affected housing community.
