“Due to a hazardous situation onboard Naval Base San Diego WETSIDE Zone A… all personnel onboard the installation are directed to seek shelter in the nearest building and activate Shelter-In-Place plans,” the notice stated. “Remain indoors until further instructions are received. This is not a drill.”

The alert, labeled as a correction update at 10:14 p.m., emphasized the seriousness of the situation and prompted an immediate response from base security and law enforcement.

Authorities have not released details regarding a suspect or confirmed whether any injuries occurred. Officials said the lockdown was ordered as a precaution while the situation was assessed and secured.

Personnel on base were instructed to remain indoors and avoid movement until further notice, as emergency responders and security teams worked to ensure safety across the installation.

The incident remains under investigation, and officials said additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
