Dade City accident victim Tyrhonda Grant identified; 18-year-old from Tampa charged

DADE CITY FLA, Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that took the life of 45-year-old Tyrhonda Grant on Wednesday evening, January 21, 2026, in Dade City.
According to authorities, the crash happened at about 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Curley Road and Saint Joe Road. A Ford F-150 driven by a 16-year-old male from Dade City was traveling northbound on Curley Road and allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign. The pickup truck entered the intersection and struck an Audi Q5 that was being driven westbound by Grant.
Due to the impact, both vehicles left the roadway. The Audi overturned, and Grant was ejected from the vehicle during the collision. The Ford F-150 caught fire, while the teenage driver suffered injuries that were described as non-life-threatening. He was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Tyrhonda Grant sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Florida Highway Patrol officials have confirmed that the crash remains under active investigation. At this time, no charges have been announced, and investigators are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the collision.
