LITTLE ROCK, Ark. Terri Womack, the wife of Arkansas Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3), has died at the age of 68.
According to her obituary, Terri Womack passed away on Sunday, Jan. 18.
Congressman Womack announced her death in a post on his X account.
“Sunday afternoon, Heaven welcomed an angel. My wife of 41 years, Terri Womack, went to live in eternity with Jesus,” Womack wrote. “My heart is broken and that space remains without her presence. I take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering in pain and is at peace evermore. Her legacy of love will live in the hearts of all who knew her.”
He also thanked the public for their support, saying the family appreciates the outpouring of prayers and kind messages during this time.
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders also released a statement acknowledging Womack’s passing and offering condolences to the congressman and his family.
