Macomb County Human Trafficking Sting Results in 21 Arrests

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. — A human trafficking sting conducted by the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of 21 people, authorities confirmed.
According to the sheriff’s office, the operation was a targeted enforcement effort across Metro Detroit and involved multiple agencies, including the Warren Police Department, Macomb Area Computer Enforcement, the Macomb Auto Theft Squad, and task force officers.
Investigators said 12 of those arrested were involved in commercial sexual activity, while nine others were accused of facilitating that activity.
On Friday, six suspects were arraigned on charges of transporting a person for prostitution. Those arraigned include 24-year-old James Jones of Toledo, 25-year-old Antonio Morrow of Detroit, 21-year-old Austin Seder of St. Clair Shores, 39-year-old Jacob Ducharme of Ira Township, 33-year-old Alan Lewis of Detroit, and 26-year-old Tangelia Smith of Southfield.
All six received $50,000 cash or surety bonds, according to court records.
Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said human trafficking is a serious crime that targets vulnerable individuals and emphasized that law enforcement will continue efforts to hold those responsible accountable.
