Lakewood Shooting Leaves Multiple Family Members Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

LAKEWOOD, Calif. Homicide detectives are investigating what authorities believe may be a murder-suicide after three family members were found dead inside a Lakewood home early this morning, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 5800 block of Lorelei Avenue at approximately 7:55 a.m., Sheriff’s Deputy Maria Lucero said. The home is located in a single-family residential neighborhood just northwest of South Street and Bellflower Boulevard.
When deputies arrived, they discovered three individuals inside the residence. All three were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims or clarified their relationship to one another.
LASD later confirmed that homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and that the deaths are being treated as a suspected murder-suicide. Officials also said a suspect believed to be connected to the case was later found dead from an apparent suicide several miles away from the Lakewood home.
Details regarding the circumstances surrounding the deaths, including a possible motive or timeline, have not been made public. Investigators continue to collect evidence and speak with potential witnesses.
