Police Seek Woman Accused in New Hampshire Road Rage Assault
PELHAM ROAD RAGE, police in Pelham, New Hampshire are searching for a woman accused of attacking another woman with a knife and damaging her vehicle during what authorities described as a road rage incident.
According to police, the incident occurred Thursday morning after a 52-year-old woman was driving along Bridge Street in Dracut, Massachusetts. The victim reported that the driver in front of her made a turn without signaling, prompting her to honk before continuing on to a cigarette store just over the New Hampshire line in Pelham. She said she did not realize the other driver had begun following her.
The victim stated that the suspect followed her into the parking lot of Ace Discount Cigarettes in Pelham and began yelling at her. The victim then entered the store to avoid further confrontation.
Police said that when the woman exited the store, the suspect was waiting outside and confronted her while holding a knife. According to Pelham Police Lt. Adam Thistle, the victim was able to escape and re-enter the store for safety. Afterward, the suspect allegedly slashed one of the victim’s car tires before fleeing the scene.
Authorities said the suspect fled southbound on Bridge Street and crossed back into Massachusetts. No physical injuries were reported, and the victim later expressed relief that she was able to escape unharmed.
Pelham police described the suspect as a Hispanic or Black woman in her 50s, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a newer Kia Optima with Massachusetts license plates.
