Body Recovered From Arkansas River; Five Oklahoma Residents Arrested in Homicide Case

ARKANSAS RIVER HOMICIDE, has led to the arrest of five Oklahoma residents following an investigation into the death of a 30-year-old man whose body was recovered in Crawford County.
According to authorities, the Van Buren Police Department requested assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation on November 17, 2025, to investigate a homicide connected to a body found earlier in the Arkansas River. Three days prior, Van Buren police officers recovered the body of an unidentified man from the river just north of Bekaert Road.
The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory later identified the deceased as 30-year-old Derek Marshall. Investigators determined that his manner of death was homicide and that he had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
During the investigation, OSBI agents determined that Marshall was killed on November 5, 2025, in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Based on evidence gathered during the inquiry, authorities identified five suspects believed to be connected to the case.
Danny Goad, 59, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction. Officials stated that Goad was already being held in the Muskogee County Jail on unrelated charges at the time of the new arrest.
Jason Quick, 46, along with Jerry Pratt, 56, and Rhonda Jeremiah, 56, were arrested and booked into the Sequoyah County Jail on charges of accessory after the fact. A fifth suspect, Nathern England, 56, was also booked into the Sequoyah County Jail and charged with obstructing an officer.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the investigation. The case remains active as officials continue legal proceedings related to the arrests.
