Police Share New Information in Ludlow Officer-Involved Incident

LUDLOW, Vt. — Police have released new information about an officer-involved incident that occurred early Thursday morning at a Ludlow hotel, as state authorities continue their investigation.

Vermont State Police said a Ludlow police officer discharged a firearm around 6:15 a.m. Thursday at the Fox Run Inn on Main Street, just outside the downtown area. A man was injured during the incident and transported to a hospital for treatment.

Officials confirmed Thursday evening that the man, whose identity has not been released, was listed in stable condition. Police also stated that no law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.

Investigators have not yet disclosed details about what led up to the encounter. However, authorities said they have reviewed video footage related to the incident and have conducted interviews with witnesses. Additional information is expected to be released on Friday as the investigation continues.

Vermont State Police are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Westminster barracks at 802-722-4600 or to submit an anonymous tip online.

In accordance with standard procedure, the name of the involved officer will not be released for at least 24 hours. The case is also being reviewed by the Vermont Attorney General’s Office and the Windsor County State’s Attorney to ensure an independent and thorough investigation.

Officials emphasized that the investigation remains active and that further updates will be provided as more facts become available.
