Authorities Investigate US-64 Incident Involving 55-Year-Old Derick Godwin
Authorities in Raleigh have shared an update regarding a recent incident on U.S. Highway 64 involving 55-year-old Derick Godwin. Officials confirmed that he has passed away after being taken to the hospital with critical injuries related to the highway event last week.
According to preliminary details, Godwin was found with a severe injury while traveling along the roadway and was transported for emergency care. Despite extensive medical efforts, he later did not recover.
Investigators say a person connected to the incident has been identified, and there is no active search underway. The individual’s name has not been released as the investigation continues.
Following the incident, U.S. 64 was temporarily closed for several hours as deputies gathered information, documented the scene, and interviewed witnesses.
