Community Mourns Tiffany Lassiter, Sunstates Security Officer, Following Tragic Death

Authorities confirmed that a fatal shooting on the evening of December 24, 2025, claimed the life of 37-year-old Tiffany Lassiter, leaving her family and community in deep mourning.
According to the Henderson Police Department, officers responded at approximately 7:45 p.m. to a reported shooting at a residence located at 866 Dabney Drive. Upon entering the home, officers found Tiffany Lassiter suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Tiffany’s death has been described as a devastating loss and a painful reminder of the profound impact that violence within the home can have on families and communities. Those who knew her emphasized that she was far more than a name in a police report. She was a daughter, a loved one, a friend, and a woman whose life was filled with meaning, relationships, and memories that cannot be replaced.
Loved ones remember Tiffany as someone whose presence truly mattered. Her absence will be felt in everyday moments, shared spaces, and future milestones that she will no longer be present to experience. The loss has been especially difficult given the timing of the incident during a season typically associated with togetherness and reflection.
Authorities stated that a suspect, identified as 52-year-old Mahlon Leroy Hebron, was taken into custody without incident. Information obtained at the scene indicated that the suspect and Tiffany were involved in a domestic relationship.
Police confirmed that Hebron has been charged in connection with the homicide and was remanded to the Vance County Detention Center without bond. Court proceedings are pending, and officials noted that the investigation remains ongoing. No additional details have been released at this time.
As the legal process continues, the emotional weight of Tiffany’s loss remains heavy for those who loved her. Answers alone cannot fill the void left behind, and her family and friends now face the difficult process of grieving an unimaginable loss.
Tiffany Lassiter is being honored and remembered for her life, not defined by the violence that ended it. Her life mattered, and she will be remembered with compassion and dignity. The community continues to extend thoughts, prayers, and support to her family and loved ones as they navigate the difficult days ahead.
