BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Emergency personnel and law enforcement agencies responded Friday to a critical incident in the area of 1046 Thomas S. Boyland Street, where a police officer was shot during an encounter with a suspect.
According to preliminary reports, the officer sustained a gunshot wound during the initial response.
The suspect, who is believed to be armed with a shotgun, has since barricaded himself inside an apartment at the scene.
Negotiators and tactical response units have been deployed as the situation remains active and fluid.
