SAN ANGELO , TX — Heartbreak is being felt across West Texas after authorities confirmed the identity of the woman who died in a wrong-way crash on U.S. 87 Wednesday night. The Texas Department of Public Safety identified the victim as 51-year-old Aleasa Ogle of Eden, whose death has left family, friends, and neighbors mourning a life taken far too soon. Another driver was seriously injured.

The collision happened at about 9:20 p.m. on December 10, roughly 7.5 miles southeast of San Angelo. According to DPS, Aleasa was driving a 2022 Nissan Rogue eastbound when a GMC Canyon pickup driven by 26-year-old Angelica Diaz of San Angelo came toward her head-on while traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes.

The crash was severe. Despite a rapid emergency response, Aleasa Ogle was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Thomas Daniels. DPS said Diaz suffered incapacitating injuries and was airlifted to Shannon Medical Center for treatment. Authorities noted that both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time, and that road and weather conditions were clear and dry.

The investigation is being handled by Trooper Solis with the Texas Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office and the Wall Volunteer Fire Department. Preliminary information indicates the pickup was traveling in the wrong direction when the collision occurred.

As the investigation continues, many in the community are focusing on remembering Aleasa Ogle beyond the tragic circumstances. Those who knew her describe a woman of warmth, strength, and kindness—someone whose presence mattered and whose loss leaves a deep void in Eden, San Angelo, and among the extended circle of loved ones who treasured her.

May Aleasa Ogle rest in peace, and may her loved ones find strength, comfort, and healing in the difficult days ahead.
