Cooper Andrew Elsik Obituary: 18-Year-Old Remembered After Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 79

Authorities reported that the crash occurred at approximately 6:55 p.m. west of County Road 334. According to officials, a Dodge Ram 3500 pickup crossed into the westbound lane and collided with the Ford Escape driven by Cooper. The force of the impact caused the Escape to lose control and strike a third vehicle, resulting in serious injuries to three other individuals involved in the accident.
Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace David Yarbrough. Emergency responders remained on scene for an extended period as they worked to assist the injured and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
